Dr. Suvendu Jena can be summed up in two words. Life Saver. When I went to Dr. Suvendu Jena for the first time, I was running short of time for my fathers treatment, who had been diagnosed with a life threatening advanced stage of pancreatic cancer. The surgical intervention was extremely complicated and involved a team of surgeons from four different specialities.
Dr. Suvendu was completely in charge from the word Go and at no point in time did we feel any alarm or panic after he took our case. Everything went according to what he briefed me in the begining itself, the treatment, the timelines, the duration of hospital stay, everything.
It was a procedure that lasted more than 12 hours and was conducted sometime in January 2025.
My Dad goes on his morning walks, as usual and he has been told that he can eat whatever he likes. He drives around in his car. Visits friends and relatives, enjoys watching his favorite shows and news. He leads a very active life, and yes, did I mention he will be turning 81 this month.

What stood out equally was his willingness to  listen to his team and seniors, while confidently challenging ideas with fresh thinking to achieve the best outcomes for this patients.

He didn’t just perform surgery or treat a condition. He stood by me through one of the toughest phases of my life with patience, determination, and genuine care.

Even more than a year later as I continue to recover, I can still reach out to him for his invaluable guidance, and he continues to motivate and support me with the same sincerity and care.
